Long story, but I ended up changing jobs and moving in the middle of bow season... Not to happy about that. I'll get a weekend at the family place in December, so I'll turn my trusty old .30-30 fill the freezer. Though, tis not the same as spending the transition to fall up in a tree. Feels like something is missing.

Has definetly put a damper on the hunting trips this year. But now I got another hunting buddy in the making. 
I have had a few days I was able to slip away to the blind, but missed alot of the prime weather days. I try to put everything in perspective and soon realize that there will be many more opportunities to hunt in the future now I need to focus on family and enjoy this time with my wife and kids.
She stops teasing after that!
