    Rutting In North Texas?

How many folks saw bucks chasing does this weekend? I figure we are still a week out around Montague County but a buddy of mine shot and missed a buck around Commerce this past Monday with his bow. Said he and smaller 8 pt were fighting over a doe.

Anybody seeing anything in North TX? I didn't.

Saw a spike chase a doe saturday and sunday in jack county. Big boys just split up out of groups a week ago. I say next week for sure. Cant wait for Monday. Calling for highs in the 50s.

I saw 4 different bucks harassing does at the Wise/Montague County line this weekend. I think it is pre-rut time.

There has been a lot of pre rut activity with younger bucks chasing, but I haven seen any mature ones out and about yet. I hope this cold front coming Monday helps it kick off.

I hunted this am. Had a buck come in and chase does around feeder. Then had a doe getting dogged hard by a 8 pt

In Wichita county I saw bucks still traveling together and bucks shadowing does. Mixture of older and younger bucks.

I've been in the stand every day for two weeks, in Denton co. I have only seen one buck actively harassing a doe, and all the rest have just been trailing behind 50 yards or so. I have seen several bucks with their noses out, looking but with no girls around.

Saw bucks together last week. Had a 4 year old 8 point going nuts grunting and chasing every doe he saw on Sunday. 2 other young bucks pushing does this weekend.

                        Cooke County

Parker County - we had several 3 and 4 year old bucks grunting and squaring off to one another. Had 2 spikes chasing does - one of which is now in my freezer.

Haven't seen one breed, but they are chasing and responding to rattling. I don't think it's in full swing but its started.
