I've never been a big user of deer pee.The times I have used the store products turned out to be wasted time and money. So when the post on Frank's came up I didn't think much of it.But the posts got more frequent with good reviews so I ordered me a bottle last week.
Arrived at the lease Friday around midnight, didn't get much sleep after unloading and preparing for the morning hunt.Wind was suppose to turn and come out of the north that morning so I opted to not sit in my tripod.Instead I grabbed my rifle and decided to setup on the ground in an old cedar tree.Got to my area and sprayed two spots with Frank's,one 75yrds and the other I thought was at 40yrds.Turned out to be 20yrds.What can I say it was dark.I apparently sprayed just as much on my pants as I did on the bush cause I sure smelled it while sitting.Right around first light I hear something coming from the farthest spot I sprayed, thought it was hogs as noisy as it was.It came up the same trail I used and stopped 15' from me.It was a buck with his nose to the ground,he came rightup to where I entered the brush. He stopped and stomped then walked away.My heart was a pumping the whole time but it was too dark to tell age or antler size.Seen nothing after that.
Sunday morning came and due to the time change I didn't get to the cedar until daylight.I quickly went and sprayed the bush at the 20yrd spot then sat in my chair. It was a slow morning, wind swirling all over the place.About 8:30 I hear some loud thrashing then a deer blowing.Busted again, but I waited 5 min then grabbed my horns and rattled a bit.20 mins later I set my rifle down and checked the Hag thread so I could get an update on Dan's buck. I caught movement and looked up,there was a buck rubbing his face in that bush 20yrds from me.My phone fell outta my hands and he looked right at me.I froze,he went rubbin and lickin again.I'm looking at him trying to age him and I see alot of white and a nice briskit, small rack but one side was palmetted.I figured he was an older one,WTH I'm going to Hag in 2 weeks might as well take him.Reached for my rifle and he stopped and looked directly at me,slowly raised it,expecting him to bolt at any time.He went back to rubbin,I'm waiting on him to turn for a shot but he never did.Clicked the safety off and he stood up facing me.Shot him in the chest and he dropped right there. I don't know what's in that Ohio doe pee but it sure worked this weekend.
