Looking to get a high power scope, base and rings to put on my Remington sendero 7mm STW. I've never purchased a high power scope so I'm not sure on what I will need as far as recticle, turrets etc. This will be a hunting gun mainly for long shots at piggies. I've been looking at trijicon, zeiss, vortex, and nikon but am open to other brands too. I just want a dependable scope that will get the job done!

We could most likely be able to help better if we had a price range. If it doesn't matter Nightforce or the upper end Zeiss offerings. If your like most of use and are staying in the sub 1000 range. Vortex, Zeiss Conquest, or Black Diamond Burris. Also check these guys out http://www.opticstalk.com/forums.html
Good luck

I went with a Leupold Mark 4 8.5x25x50 LR/T for my .300 Sendero Ultra mag. I read for a couple weeks on what rings and base to go with. If you are going to spend the money on the scope you might as well pay for the rings and base.
I used a Seekins 20moa base, the 20moa allows you to get more moa out of your scope by starting you out with a slant in the base. I also went with Seekins 6/4 rings which were spot on and did not need lapping.
BTW I have a Sendero in 7mag also. Love the Senderos.
Just to give you an idea of what it could look like. I also used Low rings with a 50mm Objective and a 30mm scope. I read for days and no one could give me a definate answer on it so I figured I would try it and it works great.

Friend of mine turned me onto it he has one on a predator pursuit RRA 223 and he loves it to! Not the best for something like 500 to 1000 yds if ur going to shoot that yardage all day because the crosshairs are just a little thick! But good for under 500 and all kinds of animals!
It's deffinantly my go to gun!
