Tikka Tikka Tackdriver - penny for your thoughts

I've done some work to my 30-06 Tikka T3. This is how it shoots factory Hornady Light Mag (Superformance) ammo now.

    Here's the gun.

Hinterland bolt handle and shroud, Bell and Carlson Medalist stock, Sako Optilock rings and a Meopta Meostar scope. I also lightened up the trigger pull.

    I'm keeping this gun!

I would say you have found the right gun and ammo it likes to eat. Congrats.

The gun shot the same factory ammo in 1-1.25 MOA consistently before I switched out the factory stock with the Bell and Carlson medalist.

The medalist stock also improved the accuracy in my Weatherby.

Both of these targets only have three shots in them. NO FLIERS!

Haven't heard a lot about the scope. What are the specs and price?

It's a Meopta Meostar 4-16x44 with target turrets and Mil-dot reticule. SWFA has them for $950. Super nice scopes. Same quality level as Zeiss Conquest or upper end Leupolds IMO.

My Tikka has been a dream to own. The ONLY thing I would change would be a little higher quality stock...but I am comparing it to a Browning.

Thanks! I think so too and the pictures don't do it justice. The factory stocks on Tikka rifles are actually pretty decent. However, you drop a Tikka action in one of those Bell and Carlson Medalist stocks and suddenly it's like you have a Sako Tecomate! The aluminum bolt shroud from Hinterland removes my concern that the original plastic one will crack. Hard to believe it's possible but that Hinterland bolt handle makes the gun feed cartridges even smoother.

I'm gonna work up some handloads and see what this rifles' potential is now.

What's that B&C stock run if you don't mind me asking?

stockysstocks has an Olive with Black Web B&C Medalist for the Tikka for $250.86 on their in stock list right now.

The B&C Medalists with the Aluminum Bedding block are the SHIZZLE! I also put one on my Weatherby and it improved it's accuracy as well.

It maybe weighs a couple ounces more than the factory Tikka stock. The stock soaks up recoil impressively. Probably knocked 35% off the felt recoil on both rifles I've installed them on. I don't even use the muzzle brake on the 300WBY anymore.

Looks great Leo. I really like that shroud and bolt handle. Got the wheels turning about my 25.06, but it shoots like your target already. Makes me wonder what its really capable of with hand loads and some stock work.

                            Nice rig!

I love my 7-mag t3 lite stainless - tack driver as well.

Anyone I've ever met with Tikka has a similar point of view.
