    My stand popped!

Had a deer come in right at daylight from behind me. Just my luck it's a shooter buck. Just as he gets within 5 yards of the base of my tripod. My stand lets out a silent breaking POP! I now know the feeling of my heart sinking past my stomach and straight to the ground below.

That stinks. I never realized how much this ladder stand creaks. Really loud on a still morning. Hope tightening all the bolts fixes it

that's a shame.... It's crazy how a heart thumping can make things creek and moan!

Hate that feeling. Mine doesn't pop while sitting but it does coming down the ladder.

Makes me wanna weld all the joints and make it one whole piece. Won't be very easy for moving though. But there wont be anymore popping. Hopefully he stays around. He made a U turn and ran back into the large wooded area behind us. I've never seen him before only lil Sandhill bucks that we usually get in our area.

Might check your joints to make sure a bolt or nut didn't give up.

That stinks. I put up a ladder stand the evening before the bow opener. Got finished right at dark. Climbed to the top quickly to secure it and then split. Next morning slip to the stand, climb up and settle in long before sunrise. I get a little drowsy and then the stand slips down the tree a couple inches. I **** near p*ssed down both legs. Didn't scare any game, but sure woke me up. I bet he will be back.

Tighten the bolts and a light shot of 3-in-1 oil on all joints--

Got to the next-to-the-top step of my tripod yesterday-eyeballs at the level of the swivel and there is a mass of wasps trying to settle in--the tops of the tube legs. Ran 'em all off, but next time I sit that stand, I'm gonna stuff rags in the tops and give 'em a dose of bug spray. Would have been more fun if it had been a morning hunt and they started coming out of their "bedrooms" when it started warming up-while I was in the seat-NOT!

Gave it another go this morning. Nothing moving all morning long. About 9:00 my wife texts me " did you get him?" I told her haven't seen a thing. Just about then I hear the barb wife sing as a doe crossed it to my right. Just then the shooter that busted me a few mornings ago comes flying out of the brush to my left charging for the doe. He ran past me at 10 yards and never stopped. Two close encounters on what is a good deer for sandhill country. His time is coming.......hopefully.

When it is totally quite early or late everything seems noisy. Make sure you tighten that thing up by getting there early.
