phone coverage in west texas

I will be working a bit west of odessa in a couple weeks and was wondering if verizon had good phone service out there.

From my experience ATT is the only one, I have Sprint and didn't get crap out there

I also have att phone most spots the verizon works better some areas att but even when att works it drops calls alot

Verizon has best overall coverage. AT&T if you are around a big city is ok. I dropped AT&T in Denver city because of their poor coverage.

When in doubt go to Walmart and buy a 20 dollar Go-phone and a minute card to load on it. It has full ATT service. That's what I got for my trip to Brackettville, that's the only phone that worked all that week. It was well worth the 45 bucks (20 dollar phone and a 25 dollar minutes card) to be able to call and check on the wife and baby. Plus is no contract at all. Just out minutes on as you need them.

I cover most of that area for work and both my phones are Verizon and I get service everywhere I have ever been out there

AT&T is the only one that will have coverage in most of the state. When I was working field service I had a Verizon company phone and it seemed to work as far as the city limits while my personal AT&T never seemed to loose signal. This was all over TX, OK, & LA.

Out here, AT&T sucks. Verizon is better. I have Verizon for that reason. I go all over out here!!

Here further west into NM we have ATT for work phones. It drops in several areas. Outside of Loving on to Pecos nothing.

Verizon just does not work out here very well. But verizon just bought out the local plateau wireless so maybe they get a little better real soon.

When I was working in Ft Stockton my AT&T was very spotty. It didnt work at all out at the work site (between ft stockton and Sanderson) We were building a gas plant for Sandridge.

We had to get Verizon phones for work.
