I was out yesterday morning between feeding goats and chickens and taking kids to school I saw a nice 8 point behind my house with some does. So this morning I got up at 5:30 showered in scent free soap grabbed the longbow and headed for my tree stand on the back of my property. I have never hunted this stand and never shot anything from a tree with trad gear. Before day light I could see deer in the moon light eating my hand corn. then about 7:12 I had 5 or 6 more come in. The feeder fed and everybody hauled buns. As they slowly returned the buck walked under my tree and was at 5 yrds but it was tooo early to shoot. He headed straight to the feeder and showed me nothing but tail for 10 minutes. Finally a doe got on the hand corn and he had to run her off. He turned broadside at 17 yrds and I drew back and let it fly. Smack I spined him. He fell but I was unable to see his vitals. After a short time he moved into an opening and I finished the deal. This is only my second Trad. buck and first with my long bow.
