    EGT Deletes

Wth are they?? Haha. What do they do, how do they help/hurt me? I've got a 2012 Cummins. New to the diesel world and I'm kinda lost in the sauce. Had gassers my entire life. I know there's at least a bunch of you that can break this down Barney style for me.. Lol

You might want to take a look at Cumminsdeisel.com lots of good info on there about said topic.

          There actually called EGR deletes.
Basically it frees up airflow to the motor and increases horsepower and in most cases mpg. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that burnt exhaust going back into the engine doesn't help it.
(That's not aimed towards you more aimed to the idiots that make the darn things with EGR and DPF)
Personally I would do it right away and get rid of it all but some choose to wait until their warranty is up. I just can't deal with the ridiculous Diesel exhaust fluid and all the trouble it is going to give you along the way.

Look into EFILive for the tuning.

Thanks man. I grasp the concept now. Haha. I've heard of all kinds of angry rants about exhaust fluid. Luckily, I don't have to worry about that with my truck

your better bet is to repalce the whole exhaust with an up graded one in stead of just deleting them.. Some shops around here wont pass the inspection with just deletes due to it not being part of the original exhaust set up..

As far as efi live dont run it stick to someone who dose nothing but dodge efi will burn that bad boy up, there great on ford and chevy but smarty and bd are the better opptions on programming for a cummins..

Ahh.. I guess that makes sense. Hadn't really thought about that. I know if I upgrade my exhaust wrong it'll throw all sorts of crazy codes. Suggestions for the exhaust?

Bullydog is more geared toward the 5.9L cummins and ive heard a ton of bad things about them on the 6.7L. H&S is the way to go on 6.7L imo. I have a 2011 cummins dually with 6" lift, 35" mud grapplers, stage II intake, 5" turbo back exhaust with h&s and still get great power and around 18mpg highway

I pull a 32' gooseneck stock trailer every weekend to different rodeos and stock shows and sales and stuff. I can't really lift my truck that much w/o blocking the foot on my trailer. I'm really just wanting to increase my mpg but more hp/ft lbs of torque I won't complain about. Haha. Don't really have the money for a programmer or anything like that so I'm trying to do what I can with my budget

Surprisingly i still pull my 42' fifth wheel and gooseneck trailer with no problem. I understand where youre coming from, i was just replying to the bullydog on a 6.7L comment. Best i know though, you cant delete an egr/dpf without some form of programmer. It will instantly put your truck in limp mode if the sensor isnt there. These 6.7s are great in that you dont have urea fluid but they do lack the hp/torque numbers that chevy and ford are putting out. The high output 6.7 was cummins answer to those engines but the regular 6.7 was kind of doggy imo.

Is this an "Off Road" modification?
