Pulling out of Houston area today with my cousin riding shot gun headed to etoile tx. Pick up one more bow hunter and then meet up with some fine cajuns from my home town of hackberry in shreveport at bass pro. Then its off to Illinois to for a week of searching for big boy! A bucket list item I can check off this year. Did I mention how excited I am.

Saw a good 8 pt last eve and 7 doe. Rained all morn today. My buddy let a really big 8 walk this am. Another guy saw a toad but couldn't get a shot. We at it again now.

Last evening in the stand. Saw plenty of deer that would be shooters in Texas but shots have been blocked. We have taken two does so far. Wish us luck that that ole 170" boy we been seeing pops his pretty head out.

Clint where are y'all hunting in illinois. I am originally from hackberry and hunt in Marion County Illinois. I also have a friend from the other side of big lake that hunts southern illinois.
