    Making New tracks

Me and some friends from college met up at a ranch outside Kingsland on 71 to try and shoot a hog or two. No hogs were seen, in fact only one animal was brave enough to sacrifice itself to us. LOL I was amazed at how dry it actually was out there and the number of dry and low tanks in the area. Here are some pics from the weekend.

Hope to head back that way when we get some rain. It was a very nice piece of property. Saw tons of deer. Some bucks still had both sides of their racks and some had lost 1 side. Fawns I saw weren't as big as my dog.

Putting foot steps on a new ranch makes up for the hunt no matter the outcome of the hunt.

Ok yearlings. But I have seen bigger fawns than these yearlings.

And how. I found myself more interested in trying to get good pics than actually looking for things to kill and it made me feel "NERDY"

Congrats on the squirrel. Those are some nice pics. What type of camera do you use. The reason I ask is because the picture of the moon was very clear.

Green Arrow that 45-70 is awesome. If you look at he pic of us shooting skeet in the creek bed there is a group of white rocks at the end of the concrete roadway. It is 150 yards from where the seated shooter is. I sat a shook up Dr. Pepper can in fron of them. First shot hit about an inch low. Next shot was dead on and the can exploded! It was very cool. I was impressed for shooting open sites.

Byron I took 273 pics of the moon to get that shot and I don't like it either but its the only one that turned out. I am using a Nikon D40 that I have had less than a month and am still trying to learn. I got this pic of the moon last week one day and was pleased with it.
