    Arrow back stops

What do ya'll use behind the targets? I'll be getting the kids bows for Christmas and don't want to lose a bunch of arrows.

I have a 4 ft by 8 ft. By 2 ft. Piece of styrofoam, came from a boat dock.

        Will never shoot it out.

I already have two targets and was planning on getting a couple more just for them , a Zombie one for sure to make it fun. So I don't want to spend that much for hay or have that many bales in my back yard

Stall Mats.... They are not cheap, but will last and my rig will not blow through one. You can pick them up at tractor supply

An old hot tub cover works great if you can find one.

I used an old carpet. Not one of the huge type but around 4-8. The carpet sucks up the energy of the arrow and it just drops to the ground. I`d just pin a balloon on it and fire away or put what ever you want on it.

Stall mats from Tractor Supply are the way to go IMO. You can hang them on the fence, on the side of a storage building or build a frame to hang it on. As Damon said they are not cheap (and very heavy) but they will dang sure stop an arrow.
