definately heard the impact. watched video some more I think you went in about an inch above the white hair. maybe just back of heart. should have clipped an artery or two below the heart. I think he is a dead deer but probably had to fill up with some blood probably walked a good ways. half a mile could be possible. what broadhead did you use? good luck

in case that you were below arteries I think he will live, if he heals up clean

We waited about 30 minutes and looked. No hair or blood that we could find at point of impact. 20 yards up the trail a spot of blood and then two pools of blood on both sides of the deer where he stopped in the video. The blood got better to great for about sixty yards then started getting less and less. We backed out and gave it two hours and got back on the trail. From the last blood, which was about a hundred yards from the shot, we found another spot where the deer stood with two bigger pools of blood. We followed the diminishing trail for another hundred yards where he zig zagged back and forth in thick brush and finally lost the scant trail at about 3:00 p.m.

Great looking Deer! Hope you find him! I would just love the opportunity to even get a shot at a deer like that one day. Been bowhunting for 7-8 years now and still trying to get my first buck.
