      Ok here is another
If I have a tower stand that weighs 350# and it is set on 8' x 1-1/2" square tube legs, what is the thickness of steel required in the legs to be stiff enough to winch it up?
There will be a lot of torque on the legs as they rise. Will 1/8" work?

I did a test set up with 5' legs and they had some deflection but they did not collapse.

4" sch 40 (.237 w.t.) will work for the feeder. Run a 6010 5P+ bead and weld it out with 7018.

This is how I would go about the gusset & pulleys. I think your winch/cable/pulleys will be your weakest link though..

          Edit:
Im not an engineer, but I have had 8 cups of coffee today....

8 cups? That more than qualifies you to engineer most stuff.
