1, 5, and 6 are GREAT!! Maybe a little White Balance correction on 3 and a little exposure correction or brightness on 4. Just my $.02. Do you shoot RAW?

Sonny - no those pic's are high .jpg setting. I've only used the Raw setting once and I could not tell a difference in picture quality. I also did not have the right software to edit the pic's and haven't spent the tine to try and figure it out. Thanks for the feedback.

What camera you take those pictures with?

Nice pics. What a cutie! Those are some blue eyes.

I'm a digital SLR newb, but I started shooting RAW pretty quick. You can change white balance and some other settings in RAW on your computer, and the exposure changes to exactly what it would have been if you would have had your camera set differently. Kinda like having a darkroom and lots of smelly chemicals for film. I've saved a few pics that way. But the biggest benefit I'm seeing so far is I get to experiment with each shot and see what camera settings work the best in various situations. I'm learning how to better set up my camera in the field that way.

Thanks Gary.....Konica Minolta 5D with a KM 18-70mm lens. Shane thanks for the info I'll check that out. Most of my experince is with an old Pentax 35mm so I typically get "close" and use the historgram to test shoot a couple. I'm still learning the camera though. I could of fixed these but I was working with 4 1/2 yr old so I took what I could get. What software do you use to edit raw?

I shoot strictly raw nowadays. It's easy enough to pick out the crappy pictures and delete them directly from the camera. Then use your RAW processing software(my Canon XTi came with it) and convert to JPEGS after some fine tuning. Basically, shooting RAW and processing RAW is like having your own digital darkroom. You do lose some quality converting to JPEG due to compression, but you can save them at a very high quality with RAW processing software and use them for prints.
