I shot a deer with a rifle a couple years back and called a tracker from this website and he was very clear that he needed at least one drop of blood before he would come out. He was local to the county and was probably more in tune with what the local GW would tolerate. I was sure I was going to find that buck under buzzards in a few days but I did not.

I am glad you found your deer. That is what is all about.
She also posed the point that we video a lot and said what if the video shows the arrow connect, is that a wound without blood? That's where the intent came it. I'll let her get into it though. Or if the hunter sees the arrow in the deer as he moves off as Troy did last night. Again I'll let Jamie address that and what she talked to them about.
Next, we ask if we find the deer can Rein have the heart as a reward? This made me wonder if she eats half and we talk the rest home do we need a wildlife resource doc? He said no because it was entrails(sp) which are normally left in the field anyway. We only give her part bso we don't have deer heart puke in the truck.
Lastly, I has a thought pop into my head, what if at midnight you find the deer and it's alive. Do you leave it till morning or shoot it? It was an interesting response.
I know she has a call into 2 GW as I type this to get their thoughts.

If I find them alive at night, they get put down right then. It may not be legal but it is the most humane thing to do.
