    H&R problems

Having some problems with my H&R 243. Spent some time at the range and my locking lug disengaged after 3 out of 20 shots. Cant see any reason for this to happen. Anyone have this happen before on this model or something similar? Dead on at 50 yards. 4" groups at 100 yards.

Yup my grandsons HR did the same thing. Every couple of shots the gun would break open due to a defective locking lug. Time to take it to the gunsmith for repair. I think it cost me about 45.00 to get his fixed.

I've heard of them doing that. I belive they said when it does it, it needs a good cleaning.
Clean the action real goood and make sure you don't have a bunch of oil where it locks up.

Send it back to them. They will fix it for no charge more than likely. I bought one used, and sent it in for the same thing. They fixed it for no charge even though it was used. they don't want a lawsuit.

Send it in to Remington since they own the company. They will fix the problem, also tell them accuracy is not good and they will correct that also

While you are sending it in have them lighten the god awful trigger and get another barrel fitted for it... They will do any caliber you ask for and will fit it specifically to your frame... I have a 243, and 7.62x39 (just cuz i have tons of ammo for it) for one of my frames. The other is a dedicated 30.06 truck gun...

To answer your original question: of the 2 I own, the 2 my dad owns and the 1 my bro owns we have had zero problems.

Great guns for the price, all shoot real well.
