Well we had the boss man down for a 2 day hunt. The conditions were horrific with rain and wind. This morning he had an opportunity at a good buck as it made its way across a strip. The shot sounded good but as they want to look for sign, there was leg bone. They pulled away and called me for the dogs. I loaded up Sadie and Possum. I won't run Sadie during hot days because she is my best dog and I am paranoid she will get snake bit and I had not put Sadie on the ground since last season. If Sadie ever had to find a deer, this was the one. As I put them on the blood, the cows moved in and were all around us. I prayed Possum wouldn't trash on cows, with a hunt em up, they were off. They worked the area for a while and Sadie took a line. We were on some blood but lost it, I told Andy, I got Sadie on a line about 240 yards out you stay and look for blood and I am going to work towards her. At 370 she opened up bayed solid. As I came into the strip I could see the buck backed up against a mesquite and Sadie circling him. As I quickly reached for my phone, Possum got there to help. I about **** when I saw the deer get up a break and possum caught him from his shoulder and took him down. A second shot put the buck down for good.

One happy hunter and it was a stressful track!!
