    Bowhunting hogs...tactics anyone?

Besides the usuall sit over the feeder and wait for them to come in, do yall have any other proven kill setups ? Blinds, spot and stalk methods, etc ., im planning a hunt in a few weeks at my lease ,and they primarily come to the feeders after dark ,and well before daylight which is a boring hit or miss hunt , so im looking at options to increase my shot opportunities.all comments are much appreciated !

That's a pretty good idea! I might try that next weekend.

The kool-adi corn is a good and half bury a 5 gal bucket of water near the corn too.
Hogs will smell the water from a mile away

Put a light in your bow and sit past dark.
I would suggest practicing before you hunt. Things are different in the dark.

First off I wouldn't add anything to the corn if you plan on hunting the same day or next day unless you have baited with it before. If the pigs have never smelled it and ate it before they will probably avoid it for the first couple of days. I corn roads and hunt pigs of them quite a bit and I wouldn't waste my time with a blind. I would just get a chair and sit so you can see a long ways down the road. This way you are mobile and can go to the pigs when you see them way down the road. If you use a blind you are stuck in one spot and can't see much and if the pigs come out right before dark they may not work their way to you until after dark. When you see pigs on the road, figure out what way they are feeding and get about 80 yards ahead of them and sit back about 15 yards off the road in the brush and wait for them to feed by you for the shot. Now if you really want to do some pig killing, get a good light for your bow and hunt them after dark. With a quarter moon or better and good bino's you can see a pig way down the road after dark. I do this a lot and kill a lot of pigs doing it.

I like to run them over. But we farm and I do not like hogs at all.

Create a spot just for hunting hogs at nite. Build a little solar light rack with cheapo lites pointed at a feeder and you've opened yourself up to hours of hunting in the dark. Piece of cake.

I hope you mean the brush DOWNWIND of your corn!

                            THIS^^

Exactly what I do. You can NOT make a hog come out early by sweetening corn or anything else. I use the koolaid sometimes but mainly to keep deer from eating it, when I'm specifically hunting hogs. If you want to hunt a largely nocturnal animal and increase your odds of success, figure out how to hunt at night. I prefer hunting the week leading up to full moon doin can use moonlight rather than a light. I've killed 6 hogs in the last 3 days off one stand- all hand corn and way away from a feeder. Cold weather (like today) will increase the odds they'll move in the daylight. Sitting in the brush works great and I've killed a lot of hogs doing that and stalking them in the moonlight; but having a hidden popup makes it easy, if you have the patience to wait on them.
