Anyone upgrade yet? I've been running it on my slate since the first preview. Downloading the official release now. I need to backup my hard drive but hope to have it installed on the slate this weekend or early next week. Will probably put it on my laptop after I get the slate up and running.

The only draw back so far is that I have not figured out how to turn the darn computer off, there is no start buttom.

ONe click of a buttom also puts you back on a normal home screen.

finally getting around to getting the slate updated. Going from Windows 8 Release Preview Evaluation copy to the official Windows 8 Professional 64 bit release version.
Took a little while to download to my laptop, create a boot USB drive, now clearing 31GB off the slate so I can start with a fresh install. I was in/out of house today with kids soccer game, a b-day party, cooking dinner, etc. so I'm just now really sitting down to get it done. Hopefully this goes smooth! I'm almost out of Jack Daniels.
After hunting tomorrow, I think I'll back up my laptop, wipe it clean and go with a new install of Professional on it as well.

As a software tech support engineer I would never recommend upgrading to a new OS on any machine that is running software you use to make a living without checking with them for compatibility. I've seen people upgrade and it cause them to come to a standstill. Software companies can take months to get compatible after a OS releases.

If they get this right, it will be awesome to have same core OS for those 4 devices. My team can write software once to go to all 4 devices would save us a lot of time and money. If you have a Xbox, I would definitely recommend one of the surface or a slate and upgrade. the SmartGlass technology is really cool!
BTW - if you can't tell I'm a software development director. I'm in financial services so we support iPhones, Androids, etc. but we are mostly a Microsoft shop with most of the code we write is in C#. We still have a lot of XP users using IE7 as their browser. It sucks to support those old browsers. This move by MSFT is a way they can move to where they want to go and hold the hands and give them a gentle pull into something more modern. This allows software vendors to have a chance to catch up to this technology and build for their modern UI.
