I have been bowhunting for 23 years. I used to shoot (& win) outdoor tournaments, so I am confident in my abilities.I bought an XLR8 in '09 i believe. Although I have killed 5 r 6 deer with it, it mostly sits in the garage, while I still hunt with my '05 Bowtech. I can shoot my bowtech better @ 40 and 50 yards than I can shoot my monster @ 20 yards. I recently thought I would try it again. My 4-shot groups weren't even really a group. I backed the poundage down about 5 lbs and got it to group better. My arrows are gold tip velocity xt 300's, so they shouldn't be underspined. It will group tight one day, and the next day be 6 inches left or right. the bowshop I use has a great reputation, and I trust the guys there. They have checked the bow and say that everything is good. Has anyone here had this problem with an XLR8? Mine is just so inconsistent that I am scared to hunt with it.

Monster XLR8 accuracy problems

I also used to have a Mathews and a Bowtech. I had a hard time shooting the Mathews after shooting the Bowtech due to the difference in feel between a duel cam bow and a single cam bow. I ended up selling my Mathews and getting a second Bowtech. I could have just as easily sold the Bowtech and bought a second Mathews since both are great bow makers.
If the Mathews groups well one day and not the next it sounds like the shooter and not the bow.

bowtech groups well everyday. Monster seems like something must be moving on it. I am going to give to my friend (also left handed) for him to shoot. I am convinced something is wrong with the bow. If he can shoot consistently with it, then I will agree it is the shooter, but I really don't think it is me. I spent so much money on it, I want to get some use out of it. I am back in college and can't afford a new bow right now.

Check to see if your timing is off. There is a hole in each cam. Your should see the string in the middle of that hole. If both holes don't match, your timing is off and that could be your issue. If both holes are evenly off, then that is not the issue. Make sure your not torquing the bow. Have you checked you rest? Could your peep be sliding?

Peep is tight. This is literally a day-to-day-to-day change. It will group 4 arrows, then on the next round, almost sling them off the target. I am an excellent shooter, that is why I am so determined to find the problem and make this bow dependable! lol My next step is gonna be to let someone else shoot it for few weeks. If they can shoot it consistently well and not have problem I am having, then I will probably just put it on driveway and crush it with my truck! I just can't believe that there can be so much difference in shooting the Bowtech vs Matthews and something not be wrong.
