Every year on the Thursday/Friday before that Saturday's rifle opener I see tons of trucks headed west pulling trailers with blinds, feeders, etc. What's up with that? I have my setup in place at least a month before the season opens.
when you shoot em from 200+ yards, you dont need to worry about prior stand set up....
Good point, funny thing is most of them carry their 7-300 super duper ultra wiz bang mags and set up the feeder at 100 yards. That's the part that I don't get.
Lots of times the hunters have their setups in place and these are additions to the lease...I have 5 feeders and blinds in place and will be taking a tripod and a new feeder down with me...and there are only 2 of us on the lease.....

Bows can shoot 50-60 yards pretty accurately these days, do you set your feeder up at that distance?

This. For some guys, the distance to the lease requires that you take what you can when you can. Besides, some of the blinds you're seeing won't be hunted out of until much later when the South Texas rut kicks in.

I have my feeder around 150 but shoot my 7mm RUM because I still see deer anywhere from 100-850yds.. Not that I can hit 850 but I've killed at 500 before.. Also missed at 500..
