He wouldn't have the freedom that he has freelancing. He probably wouldn't get the same rush out of it.

Awesome story, thanks for sharing that. My son rode a bus to Seattle last summer and hitchhiked home over about 8 weeks. I am gonna forward him this story, he will love it.

Many a man that has been in combat will tell you that once you get that rush you want more. I have a good buddy of mine that did two tours in nam as a medavac door gunner and he told me he had to get back because of the rush he got shooting that 50 cal hanging off the skids of his chopper.

no fame in that... he's not doing anything for a greater cause than his own desires. he wouldn't have lasted too long in the military.

to me, this story is a direct result of too many nights spent playing Call of Duty and de-humanizing others... He ran back home after his first firefight and then went back after the fighting was over... with a reporter and the admiration of the former rebels.

this kid has no clue what their fighting and sacrifices meant to them and it's sad that he doesn't seem to appreciate it.

I do agree with most of Zackm's comment but a thrill seeker skydives for adrenaline rushes and thrills. Going to a foreign country where you look nothing like the people, don't speak their language, barely even research it and fighting in their civil war.....I think thats a little more than thrill seeking. I'm not even sure there is a word for it

I'd hope yahoo would check snopes before publishing, never know I guess
