How many have heard of Jerry Clower?

I grew up listening to Jerry's stories and anybody that has heard him knows the "Coon Hunting Story", but here is one of my favorites about Uncle Versie's mule. I got to watch him live when I was pretty young at a 4th of July picnic.

As a kid, we would sit around the stereo system and listen to his records.

              "Knock him out John!"

When I was very young the guys on me and my dad's lease used to sit around camp in the evenings eating fajitas, drinking mararitas and listening to Jerry Clower. Those are some of my fondess memories.

My favorite is the story about the school boy who put some heated marbles down his britches during class. The teacher asked him, "boy, you got ants in your pants?" He replies, "no ma'am. Just a couple of hot...steel...balls!"

Another classic was the one about the young bulls watching as a rancher brought in a prize winning bull to breed his heifers. All the young bulls are sitting around talking about how this old bulls gonna breed everything on the farm and this one uppity bull decides to go pick a fight with the new guy. The other bulls ask him if he's lost his mind and he says "no, but I want to make sure he know I'm a bull too!" LOL

The monkey that hunted coons was a real hoot.

Also they guy who shot the bull to get back at the land owner was and still is a classic.

Not sure if you know this but he did a sequel to the coon hunting story that talks about the aftermath. I haven't looked for it so I don't know if it's on Youtube.

It was a mule and that's the video I posted. Love that one. Here is the clip of the coon hunting monkey. It's another of my favorites.

Listened to his cassettes on way to deer camp with my dash from a young age, good memories. Went to school with his nephew in jr high and he came to our school and told a few stories.
