    Environmental Sciences

Ok Green Screen, I am thinking about doing the school thing again. Was looking at the Environmental Science field. Sounds like something that would keep my attention. It is either that or the I.T. field, and I am not very good with computers. My question is what kind of jobs are out there that deal with the following. wastewater management, pollution control, hazardous materials, industrial hygiene, public health and sanitation. I am sure that is just a short list of jobs that this area covers. Right now it is just a Associate in Science in Applied Science and Technology Degree.

What do ya think? Is that a good field to get into. I deal with fuel in the Military so I have a background in Hazmat already.

I have an associate of applied science of environmental technology. I really enjoyed all of the courses, but since graduating our local community college has discontinued the program. Health and safety is a big field and is needed in a lot of industries today. You can look into your local waste water facility, or even add some geology studies and try to get a job with an oil field testing company. A lot of places require experience or a 4 year degree, but there are entry level jobs that will get your foot in the door. Good luck with your road ahead. Thanks for your service!

My dad deals with a lot of environmental science guys that do land and animal studies to find out what creatures are in the area that they need to make accommodations for before doing the bidding and design work for airport runways and terminals. Depending on the type of company you go to work for, it could possibly get you into remote areas to study them before building roads, etc. Sounds like a fun gig. He tried to convince me on that degree field but I'm more interested in forest wildlife management.

I was doing remediation work for two years then decided to go after my masters in environmental management and sustainability I already have offers when I'm done however I will be starting my own company instead. There are endless opportunities in the environmental field.

Water treatment is a lot cleaner than wastewater treatment. Just saying!!

Jobs are there. If you are serious about this field send me a PM.
