    Voting Question???

So I'm a Texas resident and registered to vote in Denton Co. This past summer I moved to Collin Co. I have updated my DL, but forgot to update my voter registration. Can I still vote? The TX Sec of State website says if within 30 days of election you vote in your old precinct if you haven't changed your voter registration card. Can I do this? Will the people verifying information at the booth let me vote with my valid Collin County Voter card even if my Driver License is in another county?

Do I have any other options?

Wherever you are registered at this very moment to vote is where you have to go vote.

I believe you are allowed to early vote at ANY polling location...

Why not just call the elections department of either denton or Collin county and ask them. They can tell you exactly where to vote so that it counts.

All I had to show when I voted this morning was my voter registration card so you probably need to vote in the county of where your voter registration card is done.

VoteTexas.gov is your go-to resource for voter registration, election dates, polling locations, and more. Get the info you need to make your vote count.

You should be able to find any info you need here.

I just reread your post. They should NOT be checking your ID,unless you don't have a voter registration card, which is the boat I'm in.We did not recieve new ones, but are registered.

You can vote at your old polling location, but they may make you vote with a ballot that only includes elections that are common to both places. Meaning things like local bonds and school board elections will be excluded. My wife is in the same boat.

Guys, just so you don't waste your time, but I was turned away and not allowed to vote under any circumstances since I am not a Denton County resident and they DO check IDs and/or proof of residency. I was informed that I could only vote on a limited ballot in my new County

Still allows you to vote for the federal employees.

In Chicago even the dead vote so you should be good to vote anywhere...

Seriously, call the voter people and ask them. We've been wrong around here before...
