LDP's from J-J!!! Whitetail, Stag, Sheep, and Fallow!!

These pics are from a hunt that we did a few weeks ago. I did a live hunt, but here is the recap. Had a family from Arizona down to chase some critters. The origainal plan was to shoot some management whitetail and a few does. That didn't last long, because as soon as we got through the gate, Casey saw a big fallow that he wanted. We went to the house and settled in and then got out the his bow and headed back to where we saw the fallow. After a pretty quick stalk, Casey stuck him at 42 yards and he was down after a quick death run.

After we got the fallow taken care of, we hung out a bit, then went to the stands. Chris (guide) sat with Tara in a popup to get her first kill ever, with Casey (her dad) there to film. Nate and I went to a couple of tripods to try and get a buck. Tara and them were covered in deer, but the right buck wouldn't give them a shot, and Nate and I only saw one doe, which Nate made great shot on. We sat the same stands the next morning with no luck again. Nate and I had a nice 10 come in and walk right over the corn never stopping for a shot, and Tara and Chris were covered up in exotics.

After breakfast, a couple of guys that were antelope hunting with a buddy of ours, stopped by to run around and try to shoot something with their rifles on their way back home. We all jump in for a safari style hunt that turned out great. We got on a big herd of stag and parked the truck. Corey and I got behind a hill and snuck to within about 200 yards of the herd. The hinds in the group were nervous, so we shot from there and Corey made a perfect shot and we had a great stag on the ground.

After gutting the stag and eating a quick lunch, we stuck Chris and Tara back in the popup and we kept driving around looking for the red sheep, hoping we might push a deer or two past them. We finally got on the sheep over by the rifle range and Corey made another great shot and he was down for the count. They loaded up shortly after that to get on the road and Chris had to leave also, so Nate, Tara and I jumped in the popup together and put Casey in a rifle blind so he could watch the whole thing. We were after a managment hunt, but when this buck stepped out, Tara was quick to say that she wanted to upgrade. This was one of our older bucks from our breeder program that had been turned out for a few years. He was a stud and looked awesome walking down the road at us. His body was huge. He came in on a string to the feeder with another buck that was probably 190-200". When he turned quartering away at 22 yards, Tara let him hold it and he ony ran about 75 yards and was down. Not bad for a first animal ever, much less with a bow. He was a monster, main frame 8 with two drops and one other small kicker. Field dressed 245 lbs. Probably close to 300 on the hoof. Scored 172 6/8 as an 11 point. He was a toad.

I'll post the other pics after this post so that I can find it on tapatalk.
