So, I learnt a lesson on makin knives (graphic)

So, I was workin on a knife th other day. Blade was annealed & beveled. Got th drill press fired up to punch some pin holes. "Should I clamp th blade down? Naw ... Ain't done that in months!"


I now have 6 stitches, a tetanus shot, AND a drill press clamp!

Believe it or not, it didn't "hurt". I thought I'd whacked off my thumb below th nail. When I finally gutted up & looked at it, I was surprised! It stung a little, but th only real pain was th 1st painkiller shot before doc stitched me.

I got cut twice ... 1st th big cut (6 stitches), then th blade ran up th drill bit & cut me again. That piece stickin up is a flap of skin from th 2nd cut. Doc looked at it & said, "That piece ain't gunna make it!". SNIP! and its gone!

yowser. sometimes we learn the hard way. i know the lessons I learned the quickest were the ones that were always followed with a visit to the ER.
