This question has been thrown around for a while. I emailed TPWD and the following is the email:

        Mr. Vaca,

Had a question come up from a fellow hunter regarding Hunter's Education. Does a person hunting have to be in possession of their actual Hunter's Education card or is the "HE#" on the hunting license proof of having been thru the Hunter's Education course?

His Hunter's Education card has his "HE#" listed on the card itself (the numbers match). I took my course years before that and mine does not have a number, but there is a "HE#" on my hunting license.

        Thanks,

        Clint

"HE#***XX" printed on a person's hunting license is sufficient proof that that person has completed a hunter education training course. If the HE# is not printed on a person's hunting license, then that person needs to carry their certification card on their person while hunting.

Thanks for the help fellas. Guess that means plans canceled for some reason that he number isn't on my license so I will have to wait for my card. Maybe it will be in before Wednesday, figures crossed.
