Beagle as a blood tracking dog?

I have a beagle pup named candy she is around 11 weeks old. i have to say she is an absolute joy she is my first dog ive owned as an adult. she is smart wonderful and playful already listening to simple commands such as sit heel and come plays fetch all day long. ive had her on a collar and leash since she was 8 weeks old and now she will take the lead and pull where ever her nose desires. i know whne i let her off the leash i have to be very stern to get her to come back as she goes and goes with the nose to the ground.
i realize she is not a lacy but beagles are in the hound class and from what i understand they have excellent noses. is it possible to get her to track blood trails? she seems to pick things up real fast can be stubborn but for the most part if i give her positive reinforcement she listens well. ive taken her toys and hid them in the yard and she has scented them out and found them so its got me curious. at my house i have 50 acres i can kill deer and hogs and everything else here at 11 weeks she is already barking on trails but i keep her leashed as i dont want to chase her across others properties any advice good or bad will be appreciated

She is going to do what she was bread to do. Just positively reinforce blood and you have a winner.

10 month old pup, Diesel. It comes natural but I'd suggest reading the book in the link posted by Lungbustr.

Very good book. There are some very good dog folks on TBH that can answer most of your questions too...Most of the learning has to be done by US...the dog was born with the know how

Beagles are great tracking dogs. I hit this buck high, no blood that I could find. My wife brought the dog in. (Possum) found him still alive, and had him bayed up. Nothing sounds better than a baying hound. I have to keep her on a leash until she gets the deer scent. Some time I think she knows the differance between rabbit and deer by the cloths Im wearing.

I rescued my Beagle and have since become a Beagle man.

She's stubborn and gets out of the fence all the time, but she's a Squirrel dog.

When I first got her I had to take her to the front yard to use the facilities. THere was a neighborhood cat in the front yard. it was pitch black outside except for my front porch lights and a street light about 75 yards away.

My little beagle saw that cat and booked it after it. I had her on a short leash and she just sat straight up. As a pulled the leash, to let her know it was time to start thinking about going, she began to sniff the ground.

She picked up on the scent of that cat and started to make some very strange noises. SHe was almost hyperventilating. She wouldn't let it go. SHe found where the cat was in our yard, and followed exactly the way it left the yard.

Without any training on my part what so ever.

The lady I adopted her from said that we were the only people she saw fit to take her, because I told her I wouldn't hunt with her. What a mistake that was. She's perfect for it, and unfortunately for me, my integrity won't let me do it.

                      Great Dogs

I chose a beagle. This is my secound. The are great all around dogs, indoors and outdoors. A bit hardheaded and a little loud but I love to listen to mine bay.

Mine is now 7 1/2 months old and had a poor trainer(me). She only worked 6 mock trails before the season. I tried to start here at 3 months but her concentration level was not good. She is 2 for 2 already this season. Her first was a decent test. The secound was an easy trail. When she is on she just about pulls my arm off trying to go.

I believe that Beagles are one of the best all around combinations. Tracker and pet.

                      Diamond with her first
