Set up question???

Im hunting a new place. Recently I found a corner in the woods where three fence rows meet. It looks like there was once a feeder in this corner and there is definetly a good trail here at this funnel. I've got a good tree to put a stand in. My question is, should I put another feeder there, or just hand corn every time I hunt here. Im only able to make it there on the weekends which is why I thought I should put a feeder there to continue the habit of deer coming to it daily.

What do y'all think?

As long as it isn't right up against someone elses property, I'd say go for it.

The animals need to have a consitant food at one location in order for them to show up on a regular basis, otherwise they will feed only at night!

I would hand corn it. Or use something that smells good...like sweet feed or roasted soybeans.

If it's already a trail, hand corn will stop them.

A feeder might stress them out....or at least make them really nervous.

I would put a feeder out in the field (guessing there's a field) and hand corn the fencerows.

Nearest field would be 300 yds down fence row. I could move feeder to that field and make another set up.

another question:

I'm thinking when I hand corn, I could dump a whole bag out in this corner a day or two before I hunt, then hunt over it a couple of days?

That would probably be a good idea on corning a cpl days ahead of time. I like to spread it out so it takes them longer to pick it up and so there's not a dominant deer running everything else off a single pile.

That's what I've done before. Huntin a new place just has me second guessing everything.

You gonna be around this weekend? D E? My 8 yr old is hunting w me for youth weekend. We'll have a campfire and Maker's Mark going. Well, he'll have the campfire, I'll take care of the other.
