    best navigation app for IPhone

Heading to Colorado for an OTC Elk Boondoggle tomorrow and my buddy has an IPhone. He needs to download a good GPS app for his iphone. Which ones do you like best?

    Thanks.

iPhone Nav apps only work if you can get service. Invest in a good stand alone GPS.

Thanks for that info Leon. I wasn't aware of that. I have an android and mine works off of satellites even with no service.

I have the garmin app on my iphone- it is a stand alone gps. Works great- just like the garmin unit, but on your phone. I think it was around $50-60, but worth it.

Just read the Garmin app. You do not need wireless service in order to work.

Same for other GPS apps... I have motionX-GPS on my iPhone and it works just like a GPS service or not...

I run motion -x also. It's good. Not much experience with others though

make sure you have real maps. Don't rely on electronics solely. Learned that from a mathews episode on the outdoor channel when Dave's GPS was dropped.

I run motion-x. The GPS feature works with our service. It's the loading of the maps that won't work without cell service, unless you load them in the cache before you go.
