WANTED: Field-testers to consuct an experiment.

I posted a thread on how to make your cock vane line up with your BH if you bought some finished arrows. I have some arrows that I've aligned the Bh first before I flethced them...

    Anyway, here's the test:

Take a couple of shots with your BH aligned with your cock vane (12o'clock to 6 o'clock) and shoot a couple of shots, noting where they impact at. Take pics if you want.

Then shoot the same BH out of arrows that don't line up straight up and down with the cock vane.

    Post your results.

What I've found is that my BH that are not aligned shot low and right. but to test my theory, I need yall to conduct your own experiment. Thanks for yall's help!!!

I shot 3 arrows this last deer season. Took 2 does and a 12pt buck. Don't align my BHs w/Blazers either. Guess my field test worked well enough...

I'll be interested to see some results. But, I've tried it both ways and really can't see the difference. If anything, my arrows flew worse with them lined up.

I shoot a 4-blade head and 3 Blazers, how do I line them up?

As I said in your other post, I have never concerned myself with lining up my vanes and broadheads and I have no problem wrecking arrows with broadheads if I foolishly shoot at the same spot.

I have never tried to align my vanes with the broadhead. I don't think it matters at all. And quite a few deer will attest to that as well.

I shoot Grim Reapers which I don't align and Magnus Stingers. The reason why I'm asking this is that I saw this on an episode of Spirit of the Wild and it got me thinking . Now that I look back on it, when watching hunting shows, I always see the blade straight up and down. Maybe I'm the goofy one!

It doesn't matter. What matters is when you spin the arrow on a stable holder, the tip of the broadhead does not 'wander' around with each rotation, but remains in a single location. Some broadheads are better than others, and how you install your inserts can help/hurt.

Personally, I shoot 500 grain CarbonTech Rhinos at 230'ish fps so it does not matter to me. Maybe if I was shooting 350 grain arrows out of a 350 fps bow I'd worry about it.
