I went to the game and had a great time with my son, a graduate student, sitting in the student section. It's been a long time since I sat over there. There were a few LSU fans near us and before it was over I nearly had one of their kids humping it. They were fun to be around and just as passionate about their team as we are ours.
I definitely think KK missed the boat on this one. He needs to be a little more flexible with his offensive scheme. We started out running just fine. As has been pointed out 5.8 yrds per carry is great and we should have exploited that. Instead we start getting pass happy. They should have run the ball for as long as possible, drawing in the defense and then get pass happy. Johnny is a young QB and he'll learn. Swope was open on numerous occasions and I don't know if Johnny just couldn't find him or what. Evans is a hoss of a WR and he's going to get better as well. The hard part of the schedule has just started but I think we'll take Auburn, Sam Houston, and Missouri to finish out the year. I think Miss. St. is up for grabs.

And I will agree on the fact that u can't play and win a game with those kind of turnovers and missed opportunities. Especially when your playing with the big boys. We've got some big time recruites coming in next year guys and in a couple we are gonna be a force to be reckoned with in the sec.

What most folks don't understand is Zach Mettenberger needs to play in the shotgun to succeed. He is slow and has a long release. He is being forced under center bc the patchwork o-line cant protect him in the shotgun. He has a rocket for an arm and throws a great deep ball but we can't see that bc they can't block long enough for the play to develop. With the true starters on the oline or last years o line he would look like a different qb. He is being asked to take 3 step drops and fire for the 1st time in his life as he is a shotgun qb and it's not his style so he is struggling.

LSU is playing BAMA in LA, they have a chance to win that game.
I do think Bama is the better all around team right now but Death Valley will be tough.Last edited by Brock Middlebrook; 10-21-2012, 05:02 PM.

Anything can happen on Saturday night in death valley. I'll be at the game but I'm really not expecting Lsu to win. I do believe Lsu is one of very few teams that has the horses to stop bama. The offense scoring is a different story. Bama like Lsu has plenty horses in the stable to rotate on d. Lsu relies on running all game then dominating the 4th quarter when your d is worn out. Bama won't be worn out.

Welcome to the SEC west where locker rooms look like MASH units when the conference games start. You better have some capable backups or it will be a long season. Every team loses good players during the season in this division.
Hard to stop a three headed beast at running back in the 4th quarter once the defense tires. Saves LSU more often than not.
