I'm just waiting on the time I get a call when I'm out of town from Nicole saying a dog got sprayed or there's a skunk in the garage. If that happens, I may be calling you!

Not as far as that arrow you can fling at him.

I was hunting a month ago and saw a skunk the size of a medium sized pig- not kidding. As it waddled down a road I was glassing it from 150 yards above, and had it not had a white stripe I never would have thought a skunk could be that large. I had my bow, with a rifle it shoulda died.

Another thing to think about before you shoot is -

Skunks spray when something is wrong. Deer will avoid that area until the odor dissipates some.

Plus, if it isn't rabid, why would you shoot it? If you are leaving your stand and you see it, talk, slap your hands or thigh, something to let it know you are there. Make noise as you approach. Most of the time, given an opportunity, it will leave.

I've had some that were so focused on the grubs, they practically walked up to me. Within 10 feet, I yelled at them or slapped my hands. They finally looked up, paused, and ran away.
