    Finally a sucessful foodplot

After 3 seasons of plot ups and downs I finally have one paying off.. This fall I planted Frost Line from Arrow Seed in Nebraska. Its a mix of oats, rye grain, winter peas, radish and turnip.. Mixed in a bag of Buck forage oats as well..

Super happy with it.. Threw a stand up this weekend.. Maybe have some luck bringing some bucks by here in three or four weeks..

What effect do cows have on food plots?

Looks great. Did you fertilize or like it at all? My buck forage is pretty patchy this year for some reason. It usually comes up really good

I had fertilized earlier in the spring when I planted milo and ic peas.. The pigs destroyed the plot so I replanted.. No fertilizer though I might spread some next time I'm out..

It looks really good, and since there are already deer there it's hard to argue its effectivity.

My question is about how many soy or corn fields there are in the area. Having hunted eastern NE (Burt Co.), I observed the deer coming out just to the edge of several fields, but not toward the middle of many.

No corn or soy around me.. Just coastal..

This little half acre is right in the middle of my property.. I think thats why they feel comfortable in the middle..

You need me to come guard it from those pesky deer? I think I can keep them at bay! Looking good.

That's great and your deer will thank you for it by hanging around your place and staying healty through the winter. Congrats on the time and money spent.
