    Report from Mason co.

Well, it sure is green and after another 2 inches on Sunday morning it is going to be green for a while. There are lots of acorns and deer movement to feeders has slowed considerably since Aug. Just too much for the deer to eat to have to move very far. My predictions are that the deer are in good shape and antler growth is average or better, but the deer will be hard to find, the rut may help since movement will increase. Just my thoughts.
    Good Luck

I will second that for the most part. I had some movement last weekend. A nice 9 moved in and got himself killed. Dang feeder squatters...

I drive through the Mason area on the way to our place, the area looks great. Pretty country out that way.

We just got back last night and had the same experience. Tons of acorns on the ground and very little movement around the feeders. I did see one good shooter 9 the first morning but could never get a shot opportunity. After the rain Saturday night both of our tanks were full to the top. Hopefully all the rain will sour a lot of those acorns on the ground.

          Gillespie County looks green, too.

Not too much at the feeders..
