i also need one for a 1996 chevy tahoe..probably the exact same radiator...mine has a 5.7 lt vortec v-8 i could have sworn that little mesquite was a LITTLE mesquite oh well it needed a new one anyway lol
Something I learned while selling exhaust pipe and mufflers to muffler shops is that they usually sell new radiators for less than you can buy them at the auto parts stores.
There is a huge shop in Grand Prairie called Mejias they may be able to repair it or re-core it for a fraction of a replacement.
mine is beyond repair i think. the radiator cracked pretty bad. leaks everywhere! and they want like 400 for a good one! thats rediculous. i miss havin my little 6 banger toyota
There's a warehouse in SA that sells them at wholesale prices and will deliver for free (dam the name escapes me). Sorry I know that doesn't help.
I had the same one rebuilt on my 1996 Z71 this year for $85. Guy did it in 3 hrs. He just replaced both plastic end caps and, flushed etc.
I have a '98 Z71 and had/have the same problem. 1 year ago the original started leaking so I replaced with an autozone one and it lasted only a year and now I'm back where I started. DO NOT BUY ONE FROM AUTOZONE! The original lasted 9 yrs and the autozone junk 1 yr. Better off getting a delco.
Call Lone Star radiator in S.A. Don't know about retail customers, but I buy a lot wholesale and I think you will like the prices. measure width of core before You call. 1-800-445-6449
That is probably one of the fastest moving part #'s out there
Try O'rielly's I have tried buying used ones and had problems but the last one I bought for my 94 z-71 was from o'rielly and so far so good, and I think it was around $100
