    Corn problems I guess

Well with all the talk about deer not eating the corn. I thought I would throw this out there. I just went to the back of my property to set traps and remembered I moved a feeder about 3 weeks ago due to low activity. Well when I moved it I had to dump some corn out. I saw this when I get there. Click image for larger version

Doesn't appear hogs, raccoons, squirrels, like it either. I did just set up a free choice protein feeder today and hope they will stop by it soon. Click image for larger version

May be so much other food like acorns around that they just aren't hungry now.

This. Deer don't have to go more than a couple feet for food, there are acorns everywhere

        X2 or 3 or whatever...

Deer won't hit the corn unless they really need to. As green as everything is and the acorns dropping, they aren't needing it.

may want to tpost those legs in case hogs find it. Buddy I wish I could she some light on this for you. I am working on 4 months of feeding with only two pics of deer. Like my herd packed up and left. Acorns are thick right now in caldwell county. Back in 2010 I would watch deer walk past feeders headed towards oak thickets. As far as protein - not able to thin out coons so have never been down that path. Good luck and keep the cams out on any paths u can find. My fEeders back in 2010 didn't turn active till december after acorns soured.

I have tons of oaks on my place but I'm not seeing the acorns. Most of the land around me nobody lives on so I'm sure they are in there somewhere. I do have tons of youpons and green stuff around for sure. The protein may work an day not but worth a shot. Only put one bag in it for now. I am working on thinning the coons out. Got traps set now. My biggest problem has been the squirrels. They won't eat the corn on the ground. They sit on the moonshine light at one of the feeders and eat off the plate.

I have way more hog activity than deer. Luckily the cows haven't found the feeder yet! At 10.00 per bag I would rather be feeding the deer!
