    Vortex Bino Review Please

Does anyone have a set of the Viper HD 15x50? How are they in low light conditions? I want something with more magnification then 10x but am worried about 15 being too much and not very well around dusk and dawn. Also how is the field of view? Is it just very narrow or can you scan pretty well with them?

    here's my review

I can't answer to the appropriateness of 15x50 compared to 10x I think you identify that need first.

In terms of the vortex they are top of the line and probably the best value for the money. if you want a 15x50 then the viper HD is the way to go.

My primary bino's are swaro 8x42 EL's but I also have vortex, very high end steiner and very high end zeiss in the fold. Every Vortex product belongs in the group.

I bought a pair of them last year. I love them, but there are a few suggestions I would make. If you are hunting out of a blind, you will be ok if you have something to rest them on. At 15 power, they are pretty hard to hold steady.
I got tired of eye fatigue with spotting scopes while hunting mule deer in west Texas, so I switched to the bino's. I got a tripod adapter for mine and love them. As for field of view, any time you go to a higher power, you are going to loose some. I don't think I could go back to a spotting scope. Give Arrowsmith a PM. and you won't regret it!!

I love mine all except the fog proof coating must have rubbed off. I guess I need to send them back to Vortex

I can't speak to the Vipers, but Mike (Arrowsmith) convinced me to get 10x rather than 12x in my Diamondbacks due to the "steady" issse.

I have had my booger hooks all over them several times and will own a pair of the 10 and 15 power. 15 for when we go to NM and Colorado. For stability wile bowhunting set them over the top cam of your bow with it against you and its almost as good as a bipod.
