    metal building insulation question

We plan on closing in one bay of my shop to make a game room. The metal building is currently uninsulated. Would it be better to put the foam board insulation against the metal sheeting first before studding out with wood with typ. rolled insulation and drywall, or for about the same money I can bump up to 2x6 studs and sheet the outside of the studs with foil backed osb and make sort of a seperate building inside the metal building? Or just fill the approx 12" space(8" purlin+2x4) with rolled insulation. I guess I'm worried more about the sweating the building does now than anything.

spray foam after you frame probably be the best bet, not sure on the cost difference, but if you're thinking foam board then roll, it may be about the same.

I'd go with the spray foam to. The Guy that sprays our buildings charges 1.20 sq ft.

We used rolled insulation and it seems to work well. Im sure the spray foam is the way to go, but to just do it yourself, I would stick with a roll of insulation. We used the foam board on the ceiliing. glued it right onto the wood.

Spray foam as it will seal and water proof the building. It will stick to the time and you shouldn't have to put roll type in the studded walls at all.
