Do you still get the shakes with a rifle?

It takes a VERY special circumstance for me to get my juices flowing anymore with a rifle...

Do you have the same problem?

I don't know if I will ever lose that feeling with a bow.

I'm glad I started later in life so there is less chance that it will wear off.

I get excited with every hunt that I may get to drop the string or squeeze the trigger. There's just something about making the hunt a success that fills my senses. For me, its not the tool in hand, rather the task before me.

yes I still shake when I shoot with my dad's rifle because I do not get to hunt with it very often.

not really any more, but I know one day a big boy will come out and change it all. I got more excited on my first doe bow kill than my personal best buck with a rifle. I did experience a bit of excitement this year whem I got my Mgt. buck on film with a rifle. It was a bit more difficult than just shooting and it definately got the blood flowing.

Good call on this one!!Bow hunting so much(almost all the time) has totally changed the way i hunt with a rifle. Now i feel like im cheating or something but I do pull the the old 270 and the muzzleloader out from time to time.

Definitely get the shakes with any bow kill, even varmints, but usually after the shot. With a rifle usually only for a good buck. Does, spikes, culls have become less exciting with a rifle and that is why I hunt mostly with a bow now.

I never had the chance to hunt growing up so it is all still pretty new to me but last year I got a 150s class buck with my rifle and it was not anywhere close as exiting as a bow kill. If that rush ever subsides I will probably quit and play bingo!!!

Most people wouldn't understand that it feels like work to kill them... they think we are wasting them if we don't appreciate harvesting them.

I HATE shooting does/doe fawns/culls... It does absolutely nothing for me...

But there are only so many hunts that you can donate/have kids shoot etc before it becomes inefficient and you start to run out of time...

You then have to end up shooting them yourself...

People think getting to shoot 40 deer is fun... until they have to do it themselves... It SUCKS.

no I dont and thats the reason I quit hunting as much as I used to.
It comes from killing too much when I was younger.

                              its just shooting to me.
