    iphone data usage

I think att is robbing me, I got a text I used my 200mb of data for this month and they are charging me an extra $15. No biggie but kind of irritating.

I don't stream music or video's on 3g for this reason, only on wifi

I only use tapatalk for TBH, and occasionally look at facebook.

    sometimes use the maps

I usually very conservative with my phone data for this reason, is there anyway to find out my detailed data usage for the month, is this something that is on my bill?

I just got that text yesterday I think it's because I spent so much time on my phone at the lease.

something fishy is going on here, I did find the detailed data usage. And most of my usage is during the PM hours, like after I get home from work, when I'm connected to my wifi at the house.

I'm not understanding why this is showing up as used data from my plan? Like I said, I'm very conservative with my data and always check that I'm on wifi at the house when using my phone so I know this shouldn't be using my data. As much as this pains me, this may warrant a phone call to ATT

Att was having a problem charging customers for data used over wifi.

I have never been charged for using data off of wifi. I have always wondered about it. AT&T customer service has always been good to me though.

Yep....I think there is alot we dont know about what ATT is doing. When things get real complicated(like taxes and data use) they know most people just pay it. Thats what they are counting on.

I get that same text about 2 days before my billing cycle ends. Its like clock work. I've given up on them and plan on taking my business somewhere else when my contract is over.

Just remember most taxes and 911 fees are regulated by the state and federal governments

U can type in *data# and it will give u ur data usage. Type this as if u r going to make a phone call and they will send u a text message back. Also there is still unlimited data but after u reach 3 gigs of data they will slow ur service down. U can still get on the Internet but it will be slower. Also, remember when ur on Facebook it eats a lot data.

                        wasn't att it was verizon

Apple this weekend announced an update for the Verizon version of the iPhone 5 that resolves an issue whereby the smartphone continued to consume data when connected to a Wi-Fi network.

but i would certainly call them . . . . if you know your on wifi then you shouldn't be racking up data. I know on all the phones I purchased I had a couple that were in fact on LTE when in our regular wifi spots because we hadn't attached and updated the new phones with the security codes. The LTE was so fast my family members didn't realize they weren't on wifi

I don't know about that. I spend tons of time on FB and Tapatalk over 3G and this is my data usage for the last 13 months. I have never reset this since I got the phone.

You can check your usage on your bill.
