    I-20 curiosities

Everytime I drive down I-20 going to the lease there are 2 things that I wonder about. First, what happened to the rattlesnake farm? It looks abandoned now. My son never got to experience it. Secondly, there is a place on the north side just before you get to the Brazos that has a 10 ft. Chainlink fence with white posts. Is that a game ranch? Only structure I see is a small rock house.

I wondered about snakes too. I never have stopped.

You and I think a lot alike. I've asked the same questions.

I am always in too big a rush to get to the lease to want to stop anywhere along 20 except to take a leak!

I wonder how many of the mile markers I have marked?

The rattlesnake farm because the owner got busted selling rattlesnake vodka without a liquor license. I don't know all the details but it was in the star telegram a couple of years back.
The high fence place was a game ranch (don't think it still is though). It was HEAVILY over stocked that's why it is nothing but dirt and rocks. The trees used to be cleared about as high as a dear could reach to eat.

That ranch was a game ranch 20-25 years ago. Used to see aoudad regularly on the rocky hill on the SW corner of it. I'm not sure what it is now, but I haven't seen any exotics or anything in several years. They've built a big metal building now. Looks to be some kind of manufacturing deal or something now.

I'm always driving too fast to see the side of the road. I do often wonder what the deer hunting is like around Ranger Hill?!? Man, that would be a short drive......

High fence wasn't a game ranch but a drive through wildlife park. It was WAY overstocked and the little rock house used to sell parrots and other birds out of it.
