    Cost of expanded metal

I have several projects going. Anyone have any idea of the cost of 4' x 8' sheets of expanded metal? I know it depends on the gauge/weight, but a general, estimated, average, about, close-to approximate price for a BBQ grate, etc.

A sheet of 3/4" expanded is about $50 here. Thats a pretty good size for grills and such.

#9 flat is what I use for BBQ grills and it is running about $52.00 a sheet (4' x 8')

Thanks for the info. The place closest to me requires a minimum $300 purchase. I need one piece 22" x 87" for my new smoker and a 4 x 8 sheet to wrap a small trailer.

Thanks for the offer, Avidhunter. I think I am going to put a new, heavier grate in the smoker and use the old grate for the front of the trailer and split a 4x8 new panel for the sides.

Bought this great smoker from Doyle (Tree Phantom), painted it and decided to put a new grate in it before taking it to my inlaw's lake cabin. While I'm at it, I will wrap this little trailer I picked up cheap last year.

There is a Mueller's in the area; did not think about them selling expanded metal. Will give them a call.

Tree Phantom also gave me some great looking cedar that he cut to use as a shelf in front of the smoker. Great guy to deal with!

It is a little bit of a drive, but there is a welding shop west of chandler on 31 before you get into brownsboro. I have bought some plate from him. Cash only. Nice guy. Told me to give him a shout if I needed anything else. If he didn't have he said could get in less than two days. I think it is called tnt.
