Got busted on way to stand!!!

Slipping in to stand to fill a feeder and got busted........ On the calf by a small copperhead!!! Luckily I hand boots on and it didn't get through!! Be careful out there in the woods everyone!!

Glad to hear your ok. Thats scary stuff. I had a close call with a baby timber rattler at night time while pulling a hog out of the woods on opening day. I HATE snakes

I had a very close encounter with one tuesday. It bit the stick I was using to hike through the woods, good thing it was the stick because i wasnt wearing any type of snake protection

Almost stepped on one about the same size a couple weeks ago while filling the feeder. Would have turned out a lot different though cause I was in tennis shoes.

I dispatched a 3' one last week! In 14 years of hunting in texas, i've never seen one in the wild. It was just to close to my stand or it would've gotten a pardon- didn't want to find it the "hard way" next time. i ALWAYS wear my snake boots at my lease, it's a river bottom and just wayyyy too many cottonmouth's out there too take chances.
