When does the rut start in llano?

I hunt on a day lease the second weekend of November. Just wondering if we will be hunting during the rut down there or not. Went last year also and did not see any chasing. Thank for any info

The rut in the Hill Country usually "peaks" the week before and after Thanksgiving.

It is an average. Some does will get bred in early October and some as late as January or early February.

Second weekend in November should have plenty of bucks chasing and checking does.

As far as it being noticable it always seems to depend on how hot it is. We have been hunting in Llano the last 5 or 6 years and are usually there around the middle of the month. The best rutting activity I have ever seen was Thanksgiving week one year.
This year we have hit during the dark phase of the moon, where the last two years we have hit on fuller moons and seen less activity.

not in my 41 years experience of hunting llano cty. seems to be a bit later normally.
