    Hogs at the Leoncitas Ranch?

I am thinking about heading down to the Leoncitas Ranch in Tilden for the next two days to do some hog hunting in the full moon with Chris Martin. There is not any info in the Rate the Day lease section about the Leoncitas.

Have you looked at their website? I thought this was funny. Look at the very last entry on the page.

There used to be quite a bit of information about this ranch in the Rate the Day Lease section. Heath, are you wanting to hunt the high fence or low fence section?

Not for sure. We are looking to corn the roads and stalk pigs in the moonlight.

When I was there 3 or 4 years ago there was a good amount of pig sign in the back, behind camp on the low fence side. The same area where my avatar buck met a phantom.

The lease on the other hand has a pretty poor reputation on the rate the day lease section. I remember the thread was long & in depth, I would be surprised that it disappeared.

How big is the high fence vs. the low fence?

Heath they are loaded with hogs I can attest to that, I leased a pasture from that ranch. Are you supposed to hunt the high or low fence pasture? The reason I ask is because the guys running the day hunts lost the contract on the low fence and it is getting leased out to some guys in LA. Also the camp is NOT nice and if its been raining make sure you have a 4ed drive truck bc the roads suck. PM me if you have more questions.

I am not for sure about the high fence or low fence. He told me they have 4000 acres and are hunting 3300 of it. I am waiting back on a call and/or email from the guy. Chris Martin and I are just looking for a place to go stalk some pigs in the moonlight the a couple of nights this week.

Our pasture was over run with Hogs and alot of big boars too, so no doubt you should be able to corn the roads and spot and stalk.

You can also shoot some P&Y rats in the trailer house.

I have heard stories of big hogs and that is the plan. I would like to take a P&Y Rat and knock Casey Morris out of the record books.

Heath, Your rat will have to be bigger than #90 to beat my record. He is even in the LSBA record book.

                            T-Post,

I saw your comment about the Leoncitas and value your opinion. My buddy Chris has heard some good things about Scott.

The last time I was down there ,Scott had another group from Colorado and they hunted the hogs after dark every night. They weren't very good shots but they were all getting multiple shots every night. They were hunting the low fence pasture and they were seeing some really big hogs.
The biggest wild hog I have ever seen was down there. His back was belly button high on me. I am going to uess around #375-#400 range.
