I have a short, take-down hard-case for my Beretta Silver Pigeon. I last had it Labor Day Weekend while hunting their with my brother and his family as well as Michael and his girls. I recall taking my gun out of the case Saturday evening and don't remember seeing it beyond that time. When I got ready to pack up, I could not locate it.
Sunday, Michael's daughter Michaela and my nephew Chandler went for a little "joy" ride in my Ranger. I figured they might have an idea where the thing might have come off the roof. Of course, as teen-agers typically recall, they didn't have a clue where it could have fallen off the roof. I trust them but still can't explain where the thing could be. I've been back twice since then and have not seen the case. It's definitely not on the main roads.
Well, tonight I went to get an SD card to replace the one in my front yard. Before clearing it, I reviewed to see what images were on it. I noticed these to be the ones from a camera I had put on a gap in the fence on our property, hoping to catch a deer slipping through. I also noticed the boy and girl in the Ranger, with the case on the roof. Subsequent pictures showed no case. It's pretty compelling evidence that these two knuckleheads can probably tell me where this case went missing.
They're to be interrogated this evening by detectives Middleton and Self.
Note timestamps.
Clearly a gun case on roof.

Gun case status unclear.

Gun case clearly missing.
