Born and raised there. 20 years ago it was a lot different than it is now. Whites are now the minority. Like was stated, North Irving is probably the best bet.
Irving wasn't my cup of tea, but did work at several places there. My stomping grounds were anywhere from Justin, where the Texas Motor Speedway is, to Grapevine. If I had my way I'd still be in Grapevine, the place is perfect, to me, except for the mad house of construction on the highway. I think you'd end up loving the DFW area, but yeah, there are better cities to live in.
Plus DFW has a Bass Pro AND a Cabelas, you can't go wrong with that combo!!
Thanks for the input. I know its kinda a longshot, but I like to be prepared and do my research!! I have lots of family in Waco, Dallas and San Antonio.....so thats always nice. Im pretty sick of living in NM, and am ready for a change either way!! I'll let everybody know if I end up becoming a TX resident!!!
When my family moved to Irving, it was a town of about 3,000 population.
when I graduated from High School in the late 50's there was about 180 in
my graduating class.
It ain't the same place any more. Most likely her job will be in the northern
part of Irving, which as mentioned isn't bad. Plus that would make a commute
from Grapevine, coppell, Flower Mound, Lewisville, Hurst, Euless, Bedford,
and even north Dallas acceptable.
I didn't realize how bad Irving was until I moved away then had to go back a year later for something.. You can find somewhere nice that's a berry reasonable drive if she needs to take that job but you don't want to actually live there..
